Meeting Regulatory Standards

Meeting water and wastewater regulations requires more and more monitoring and reporting. Immediate screening of all test results is necessary to confirm compliance with regulatory standards and ensure effective performance of your water and wastewater operations. Immediate notification of exceedances are needed so that you can take corrective action to remedy the situation before human health and/or the environment are adversely affected.

More and more testing leads to larger volumes of water quality data that you need to manage. Reporting is also growing in complexity: the number of reports, types of reports, the audiences for reports, frequency of reports and requests for ad-hoc, one-time reports. Archiving all of your historical water quality and operational data is also important to prove compliance and identify trends.

Regulators expect you to be in compliance with all the requirements of your permits/approvals including meeting or exceeding the standards laid out in your permit. In addition, they also expect you to rigorously monitor and report on the quality of your water. At the same time, the USEPA reports that monitoring and reporting violations make up the bulk of all violations, and it is increasingly challenging to keep up with all the new rules and regulations.

Many operators have found that by using WaterTrax to continuously and automatically monitor their test results for compliance, they can more easily meet water and wastewater standards and provide safer water and wastewater for their communities. They can also prevent monitoring and reporting violations by using WaterTrax to make sure that they never miss a sample. Finally, WaterTrax gives them the big picture view of their systems that can be so hard to obtain through manual processes, and they use the time that they save on data management to concentrate on daily operations and water quality instead.

"I didn't expect this outcome, but our operations supervisors now have a much broader perspective on water quality and a better understanding of safe drinking water regulations. They are more actively involved in making decisions when it comes to the quality of water "
