WaterTrax Sampling Planner

One of the biggest headaches for water utilities is ensuring that the required water samples are collected at the right time and in the right place. Complex recurrence schedules make it difficult to maintain a sampling plan. It is not surprising that many EPA primary drinking water regulations violations are violations of monitoring (i.e. sample collection) requirements. To help make sampling planning more efficient, WaterTrax is pleased to introduce the WaterTrax Sampling Planner, an optional add-on for the WaterTrax Service. With the Sampling Planner, utilities can reduce the likelihood of monitoring-related violations and simplify monitoring by creating a sampling plan that is easily understood, revised, and followed.

“We have developed the Sampling Planner as an add-on to the WaterTrax Service” said Chris Baisley, VP of Product Management. “Since our clients already use WaterTrax as their definitive inventory of sampling points and water quality data, it makes a lot of sense to use the Service to plan upcoming sampling and confirm that the sampling and analysis is completed.”

The Sampling Planner allows utilities to specify where, when, and what must be sampled for each water system. Utility staff can run a report to find out where to go and what samples to take for a particular day, week, or month. Representing a major advance in efficiency and accuracy, the sampling event reports automatically compare the sampling plan with the water quality testing that has been completed, allowing monitoring violations to be detected well in advance of any regulatory implications and helping to ensure that all planned sampling is done.

With the Sampling Planner, WaterTrax continues to deliver on its mission to provide simple, powerful, and cost-effective water quality information tools for the drinking water industry.
