WaterTrax provides a software suite of easy-to-use, cost effective, water and wastewater information management products to help organizations manage their data efficiently and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Critical data inputs include seamless uploads of data from in-house and contract laboratories that utilize laboratory information systems (LIMS) such as Element DataSystem from Promium.

“WaterTrax is very excited about formalizing this partnership with Promium. This partnership commits both companies to ensuring interoperability between our WaterTrax and Promium products so that leading municipalities and utilities can receive data from their analytical laboratories, stay in compliance with water and wastewater regulations and reduce manual data entry and paperwork," said James Griffiths, WaterTrax General Manager. “WaterTrax brings disparate water and wastewater data together to facilitate compliance. Enhancing our relationship with Promium strengthens our capabilities in this area and will continue to bring added value to our mutual customers.”

Element LIMS integrates with the WaterTrax solution to create a comprehensive information management infrastructure for water and wastewater labs. “Helping water and wastewater laboratories improve productivity is hugely important to us and we think that working directly with WaterTrax also gives us a unique advantage,” said Scot Cocanour, Promium CEO. “Our laboratory software is purpose-built for environmental labs that test water and it’s critical to our customers that data flows efficiently through our system and then out into the WaterTrax service. The seamless connection fortifies confidence in the data integrity and eliminates a lot of manual activity.”

This year, the Project of the Year in the large municipalities category was awarded to the City of Saint John for its implementation of WaterTrax's Water and Wastewater Information Management Software Suites.  After completing a gap analysis, Saint John Water subscribed to WaterTrax because it was specifically to manage water and wastewater system data, required no additional hardware or internal IT support, and met most of their functional requirements.

Andrew Lewis, P.Eng., WaterTrax Director of Product Strategy will be presenting a paper titled "Data Management - Are you ready for MWWE?" on September 11, 2009 at the Bi-Annual CWWA National Conference & Policy Forum on Wastewater Management in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Hosted by the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association, this year's theme is "Wastewater Management: Challenges in the Next Five Years." This conference features presentations judged as best among those submitted by engineers, scientists, technicians and other wastewater professionals from across Canada and the United States. The audience includes representatives from municipalities, provincial and federal government departments and academia. Andrew's presentation focuses on a case study of what Saint John Water, a WaterTrax client, is doing to meet the treatment, monitoring, and information management requirements of the recently endorsed Canada-wide Strategy for the Management of Municipal Wastewater Effluent.
